Various types of music have been created by people around the
world for religious purposes, celebration and for pure enjoyment.
However here in the U.S.A. we redefine how people "enjoy"
their music. With MTV, VH1, and other music television networks
we barely even hear music, let alone enjoy the music.
American pop culture has gone overboard with clothing and lifestyle
obsessions, not music and albums. Mainstream musicians don't even
know how to read music and with reality shows and contest popularity
as high as it is, things aren't looking good. Is music in the
U.S.A. dead? I leave the question with you.
