Managerial
Consultant:
The most recent conversation "around the water cooler"
involved the company's new monitoring policy. A Managerial Consultant,
named Geoff Mackay, advised that they install e-mail filtering software,
supposedly to more accurately segment the final location for outgoing
business communication. However, the consensus among my peers is
that the primary reason for the implementation of these policies
is to cut down on wasted labor expenditures.
Personally, I am happy that other workers will not be able to hurt
our productivity any longer by wasting time. An interesting fact
relayed to me by an associate in another department is that management
vetoed actual click tracking software. However, this was only because
the cost was too high, both in monetary expenditures and the lack
of internal expertise to manage such a system.
